 Pay Guests or Guest Houses are in demand these days with students from all over moving out of their house for colleges or people moving out for different purposes. Whatever the reason may be, a PG is a great option if you want to save money while living away from home. Although it is an excellent option, there are certain things you should check out before settling in a guest house.

Shared Bathroom

While scouting a PG for rent check if the guest house has a shared bathroom, how many bathrooms does a guest house have? Checking for shared bathrooms is a must in PGs so that you are aware of how to manage your routine and time early in the morning.


Basic Amenities

Check for basic available amenities such as common TV, Washing machines, etc, and ensure that a PG accommodates all the basic amenities that you require in your day-to-day life to save your money and effort.


Furnishings

Availability of furnishings is important in a PG as anyone living in a guest house will require a bed and a cupboard at least, so check for appropriate and additional furnishings while renting a Guest House.


PG agreement

When finalizing and signing a PG agreement, the subletter usually takes 3 to 6 months of rent as advance. This is to ensure that the subletter does not need to look for new tenants in the middle of their term.


While finalizing your agreement make sure you clarify these situations if the need arises:

  1. If you need to leave the PG mid-term, will you get the deposit back?

  2. When the term is completed, will you be given the full deposit back or will there be some deductions?

  3. In case of damages, how will the amount be calculated and how will it be paid?
